Ready-made Egypt itineraries

Each one is a day-by-day list of real sites in an order that keeps a day in one place. Open any of them in the planner and it becomes your plan — dates, the Friday prayer time, and the golden hour computed for the sites you are actually standing at.

Cairo & Giza Weekend

2 days · 4 sites · relaxed pace · easy days

A short first visit: the Pyramids of Giza with the Grand Egyptian Museum beside them, then the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir and the lanes of Khan el-Khalili. Two stops a day, and both days stay inside one city, so nothing here depends on a long drive. Saqqara, the Citadel and Coptic Cairo are left for a longer trip.

Cairo Classic

3 days · 7 sites · full pace · steady

Three days that cover every Cairo and Giza site in the passport: the Giza plateau and Saqqara first, then the Egyptian Museum and Coptic Cairo, then the Citadel of Saladin and Khan el-Khalili next door to it. Each day stays in one part of the city, so the driving is between days rather than through them. Finishing it completes the Cairo Classic route in your passport.

Luxor Essentials

2 days · 3 sites · relaxed pace · easy days

Luxor in two days: Karnak and Luxor Temple on the east bank, then the Valley of the Kings and the west bank. Two of the largest temple complexes in Egypt and its royal necropolis, with the river as the only thing you cross.

Luxor & Karnak Deep

3 days · 3 sites · relaxed pace · easy days

One site a day: Karnak, then Luxor Temple, then the Valley of the Kings and the west bank. The same ground as Luxor Essentials with a whole day given to each, for people who would rather sit in a hypostyle hall than tick it off. It is the slowest itinerary in this library.

Alexandria Day Trip

1 day · 2 sites · relaxed pace · easy days

One day on the Mediterranean coast: the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, then the Citadel of Qaitbay out on its harbour spit. Both Alexandria sites in the passport, a couple of kilometres apart along the Corniche.

Nile Highlights

5 days · 7 sites · relaxed pace · steady

Five days following the river south: Karnak and Luxor Temple, the Valley of the Kings, then the Temple of Horus at Edfu and Kom Ombo, Philae at Aswan, and Abu Simbel. These are the sites of the Nile Journey route in your passport, in the order the river runs. Most days hold two stops or fewer, because on this itinerary the distance between them is the day.

The Grand Tour

7 days · 16 sites · full pace · demanding

Every site in the passport in one week: Alexandria, then Cairo and Giza, then Luxor, then the temples south to Abu Simbel. It is the longest and hardest itinerary here — four regions, the length of the country, and a last day that covers the most ground of any in this library. Finishing it completes the Grand Tour route.

Alexandria · Giza · Cairo · Luxor · Edfu · Kom Ombo · Aswan · Abu Simbel

The order and the pacing are TUT’s suggestion. Opening hours and ticket prices change; check at the gate or the official site — TUT doesn’t guess them.
